We know almost nothing about the childhood, adolescent and young adult years of Jesus. The Bible just leaves a blank, a gap, leaving us agnostically challenged. So since we don\u2019t know, we can only wonder and guess at what happened. My guess is that his childhood was full of nurturing, tenderness, joy, empathy, patience, attention, and love. What we learn in childhood we act out in adulthood. <\/p>\n
So what did he learn – my guess is the following <\/p>\n
1.\tDon\u2019t be afraid of men in authority \/ challenge them
\n2.\tRespect all people, women, children and men
\n3.\tQuestioning is good \u2013Question the accepted truth\/ the dogma of the day\/ patriarchy \/ injustice \/ bullies \/ self.
\n4.\tBig people don\u2019t have all the answers \/ they are not always right
\n5.\tLife is about more than what we see
\n6.\tBe who your are \/ love self \/ have faith in self
\n7.\tAge doesn\u2019t guarantee wisdom
\n8.\tWhat you see and what you hear is not always the truth
\n9.\tTreat others the way you want to be treated
\n10.\tBe tender, be loving, be kind, be thankful, be forgiving
\n11.\tBe empathic\/ think of the other
\n12.\tBe fully integrated and emotionally intelligent.
\n13.\tOur lives are not just for ourselves.
\n14.\tBe authentic – be real \/ be direct
\n15.\tBe fair and speak out about injustice<\/p>\n
Clearly Jesus held the child and childhood in high regard and linked this as the key to entering the kingdom of heaven. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
