{"id":2827,"date":"2010-12-22T07:34:37","date_gmt":"2010-12-22T07:34:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sundaypapers.org.uk\/?p=2827"},"modified":"2010-12-22T07:36:06","modified_gmt":"2010-12-22T07:36:06","slug":"new-agnosticism-part-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sundaypapers.org.uk\/?p=2827","title":{"rendered":"New Agnosticism &#8211; Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some key values of a New Agnosticism <\/p>\n<p>1.\tEmbracing the freedom of not-knowing \/ uncertainty<br \/>\n2.\tLife long learning \u2013 there is always more to learn.<br \/>\n3.\tListening to self, body, others and the whole of creation.<br \/>\n4.\tBeing integrated with body and relearning the beauty and need of touch<br \/>\n5.\tEmbracing sensuality (reject non-sense) \u2013 reconnecting with feelings and our six senses and learn to trust our emotional intelligence.<br \/>\n6.\tEnjoy and embrace playing (eros) creation and make room for wonder.<br \/>\n7.\tMove from dryness to moistness<br \/>\n8.\tAccepting and celebrating the joy and sacredness  of sex<br \/>\n9.\tLive a life of thankfulness, grace and  gratitude<br \/>\n10.\tEmbrace holistic humanity, honoring the feminine and masculine<br \/>\n11.\tMove from asceticism to aestheticism<br \/>\n12.\tMove from belief and dogma to be-attitudes<br \/>\n13.\tRespect and embrace  wisdom and the  knowledge that comes through it<br \/>\n14.\tRespect both being and doing<br \/>\n15.\tMove from separation to inclusion<br \/>\n16.\tLive justly even though it may not bring peace.<br \/>\n17.\tQuestion everything  \/ accept everyone<br \/>\n18.\tLearn to love self, others and all creation &#8211; be who you are!  <\/p>\n<p>Being an agnostic can be lonely, being a religious agnostic can be isolating, as yet there is no agnostic church. Perhaps it is time for the new agnostics to gather together, to create community or an agnostic church. <\/p>\n<p>My son expects me to know everything, he said to me the other night, \u201cyou always say you don\u2019t know\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In reality \u2013 I don\u2019t always say I don\u2019t know \u2013 but as a little boy he expects me the bigger person to know everything and is surprised and sometimes annoyed that I don\u2019t.<br \/>\nBut I am glad he has noticed this ability to say, I don\u2019t know, as I hope to model a not-knowing way of being to him.  It can however be seen as lazy response, a sitting on the fence \u2013 but sitting on the fence is eventually quite painful.     I see not-knowing as being responsible. It is a considered response to life\u2019s choices and life\u2019s circumstances. I believe it is an authentic response which offers freedom and liberation.  <\/p>\n<p>Being agnostic is natural \u2013 why fight it! <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some key values of a New Agnosticism 1.
