Like many others on the course the discussion went back to sound and vibration. The first sound we hear is our mother\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s heartbeat, a pulse, the life force. <\/p>\n<p>My presentation was about sound and movement (dance) I started by describing how it is so natural for young children to move to the beat. When my 2 year old hears music he moves his body, he can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t help it, it is impulsive, natural, part of who he is. The older we get \u00e2\u20ac\u201c we lose this ability and lose connection with our body.<\/p>\n<p>While researching I was reminded that sound was at the core of creation \u00e2\u20ac\u201c when God spoke.. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153let there be light\u00e2\u20ac? there was light. Sound was connected to something physical happening.  In Hebrew the word \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Dabhar\u00e2\u20ac? which we translate as \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcword\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 implies deeds and actions not just words, accomplishments not talk and creation not verbalising.  <\/p>\n<p>Dabhar is active, imaginative and playful. <\/p>\n<p>I like this\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 so much better then boring old words\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6.so many said, texted, written that are meaningless, pointless and powerless\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 less is definitely more. <\/p>\n<p>Let there be Dabhar !!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last weekend I had to do a presentation on the history of therapeutic drumming.
